The ancient near east

 The Ancient Near East

Assignment 2

Lilly Ciurca

Civilization in the ancient Near East shifted from a hunt-and-gather culture to being more stable in an urban environment, with cities that are held together with skills that were learned long ago! Cavemen drew photos on the wall, and from there we evolved into writing books, scripture, history, and laws- along with using writing as a form of art, bringing us museums and artists. In the screencast, a clip of how some view cavemen was played, and they were represented as monkeys. These cavemen, whether they were animals or not, were extremely smart, and used their surroundings to live, and eventually make urban settings. People multiplied, food became better, and the economy, laws, and work took off. They began growing their food, which was more reliable than hunting every time you got hungry, not knowing if they would be able to catch and kill anything. They developed religion, and believed in Yahweh, along with many other gods. After watching the screencast, I could tell Hebrews were very passionate about their religion, and put a lot of work and effort into religious writings and art.Introduction to the Ancient Near East (article) | Khan Academy
